As a research assistant, I worked on the following projects:

  1. Tracking and documenting the flow of western fighters to join PKK-affiliated forces (YPG/YPJ) in Syria. I assisted HJS Fellow Kyle Orton to source, verify and collate information on fighters.
  2. Analysing Russia’s military activity in the Arctic. I worked with Dr Andrew Foxall, Director of the Russia Studies Centre, to collate and translate information from official Russian military reports.
